...And then, there are cases like these, which are a blast to do! 🥳
Our patient came to us with prepless veneers she had done about 5 years ago while living out of state. She expressed her dislike of the bulky canines and the overall shade of the veneers. These can be issues with prepless veneers, as the natural contour of the canines creates a bulky feeling with the restoration over them, and the thin veneer can come across warmer from the natural teeth showing through. Her other complaints would be the staining around the margins and the “rounded” (bulbous) contours of her existing veneers.
We designed the case digitally with the help of Evident . We placed an emphasis on thinning her canines and having more defined line angles, while keeping much of her case the same (lengths, gingival tissues...etc.). Like a few cases we’ve shared, we cannot do a mock-up here because much of her case is either reductive (canines) or dimensionally the same. An overlay would not show much of a difference.
We removed her veneers, THEN did the overlay to see how things looked and started our restorative process from there like we always do. Shoutout to Bayview Dental Lab .view.dental.lab for the excellent restorations, my team at Groth Dental, Assistant Morgan, and mentor Zach for all the support. Cases like these have subtle changes with huge effects. The patient was a joy to work with, and now has a smile to match her wonderful personality.
Again, cases like these are a blast to do 😁
