Diabetic macular edema (DME) is a diabetes-related eye condition where damaged retinal blood vessels leak fluid into the macula — the area responsible for sharp vision. This causes swelling, blurry vision, and, if untreated, possible permanent vision loss. If you or anyone you know has been diagnosed or is at risk of diabetic macular edema, contact our office to book an appointment. 248-621-0200
