This type of cutting-edge technology is being developed by multiple companies currently.

It boggles the mind to think of the implications for our customers with high-level disabilities, particularly ALS and high-level spinal cord injuries. Communication is freedom in our modern societies, and these technologies will soon be delivering for the masses!

Brace yourself for this. This man paints a canvas of his journey with ALS in a way that is as beautifully intimate as it is brutally frank.

Over the years, our team at AU has had the unique honor of serving thousands of customers with this singularly cruel disability. Listening to this man recount his journey is a powerful motivator to intensify our efforts in research and product development in order to better serve others with ALS who have made the same difficult choices he did.

An important step in the direction of equality is equality of expectations.

Have a listen to this young woman’s TED Talk on the topic of what it means for a person with or without a disability to be an “inspiration“.

You’ll be glad you did 🙂

Stella Young is a comedian and journalist who happens to go about her day in a wheelchair — a fact that doesn't, she'd like to make clear, automatically turn her into a noble inspiration to all humanity. In this very funny talk, Young breaks down society's habit of turning disabled people into "in...

A serious barrier for people living with amputations has been smashed with the introduction of this new bionic leg developed by a lab at MIT. Not only does it directly interact with the brain and the mind through the nervous system, but it is the first prosthetic limb that actually provides “proprioception“, or feedback to the brain as to where it is in space. This means that the users can actually “feel“ the position of the leg, thus making walking far more natural and coordinated.

A study found that people with a specialized amputation and neuroprosthesis increased their walking speed to match the ranges and abilities of people without amputations.
