Let’s give a big congratulations to Jossy, one of our amazing nursing assistants on our pediatrics unit! ✨🙌

A colleague nominated her saying, “Jossy is always the first person to lend a helping hand. I know that when I am working her I have the support I need as a nurse.”

Jossy represents what teamwork looks like on the unit. Every member of the care team plays a vital role in out patients’ healing journey, and her dedication, positivity, and reliability prove that great patient care happens when we support one another.

In today’s healthcare world, simulation isn’t just practicing, it’s preparation. It allows nurses and other healthcare professionals to simulate everything from high pressure emergencies to delicate procedures in a safe and controlled environment, building confidence and improving patient care.

🌞 Sunshine Award: Hannah’s got us glowing! 🌞

We’re proud to celebrate our August Sunshine Award winner, Hannah. When a patient experienced chest pain during his visit, she didn’t just rise to the occasion, she shined! Calm, professional, and compassionate, she made a tough moment a little easier by suggesting the patient’s wife stay by his side. That simple gesture went a long way in making them both feel safe and supported.

💬 “Throughout my stay, Hannah conveyed both warmth and professionalism,” the patient wrote. “She offered to walk with me in the hallway, checked on me, listened to me, communicated with the nurses, and clearly has her patient’s best interest at heart.”

Thanks, Hannah, for being the kind of person who makes healthcare a little more human – and a lot more sunny 😎

We’re proud to celebrate Annie, director of our UHS Population Health team, who was recently honored with the 2025 Emerging Leader Award from Binghamton University Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences! 🌟

She successfully managed one of New York State’s high-risk COVID-19 vaccination centers, ensuring safe and efficient care during a critical time. In addition to her work in population health, Annie is a passionate advocate for employee well-being, helping to foster a healthier, more supportive workplace for all.
