🎉 Celebrating Innovation in Nursing! 🩺

📊 Our Nursing Unit Councils proudly showcased their Quality Improvement (QI) posters last week, highlighting projects that have driven positive change over the past year.

Unit-based QI projects are essential because they empower frontline teams to identify opportunities, implement evidence-based solutions, and continuously improve care. These initiatives lead to better patient outcomes, enhanced safety, and a stronger culture of excellence across our organization. 🌟

👏 Huge thanks to all our nurses for your dedication to quality and innovation! 💙

🚨 Hayley, one of our Emergency Department nurse educators, just earned her CEN certification! Fewer than 3% of nurses nationwide hold this credential, so she can consider herself part of the elite now. Congrats Hayley! 🎉

💚 The Grinch tried to steal Christmas, but his plans were thwarted! 🎄

On Christmas Eve, Cindy Lou Who, Santa, Mrs. Claus, and even the Grinch made their rounds, visiting staff and patients and spreading smiles, laughter, and plenty of holiday cheer.

And don’t worry—when the Grinch’s heart grew three sizes, we had it checked. No cardiomegaly here—just pure holiday spirit! 😂❤️

🌼DAISY Award🌟

Congratulations to Jennifer, our latest DAISY Award recipient. Jennifer works on South Tower 3, one of our cardiac telemetry units. Her compassion and quick thinking embody what nursing is all about. While off shift on the unit, she helped a family member of a patient who was visiting by stepping in, engaging with empathy, and de-escalating a stressful situation, bringing calm to everyone involved.

Another family member wrote, "She was a great interactive listener and showed genuine interest in him."

This moment reminds us that nursing isn't just about caring for the patient while they are in the walls of a hospital. It's about supporting the entire network around them, including family members. Jennifer's actions reflect the heart of nursing: compassion, connection, and holistic care. 💚

👏 Help us congratulate and thank Jennifer for making a difference when it mattered most! 🥳

📽 Lights! Camera! Nursing Education! 🎬💥

We’re excited to share a creative step forward in advancing nursing education. Recently, we developed an engaging educational video aimed at strengthening clinical knowledge and improving patient care.

What makes this initiative unique? It combines authentic perspectives from nurses with innovative learning methods to create practical, relatable training experiences.

By embracing fresh approaches to education, we’re helping shape the future of nursing—one dynamic learning opportunity at a time.

🌞 Sunshine Award Winner 🌞

Let’s give a big congratulations to Jossy, one of our amazing nursing assistants on our pediatrics unit! ✨🙌

A colleague nominated her saying, “Jossy is always the first person to lend a helping hand. I know that when I am working her I have the support I need as a nurse.”

Jossy represents what teamwork looks like on the unit. Every member of the care team plays a vital role in out patients’ healing journey, and her dedication, positivity, and reliability prove that great patient care happens when we support one another.

🌻 Thank you, Jossy, for being a bright light for your coworkers and patients every day! 💛

🚑 “I’m certified in Emergency Nursing and I’m in charge of your care today” 🚨

Join us in congratulating Jess, Madison, and Rachel, who recently earned their Certification in Emergency Nursing and now get to say that to their patients!

These rockstars can handle everything from “I think my kiddo swallowed a Lego” to “There’s something up with my arm after wrestling my pet raccoon” 🦝💥

Why is certification important? Because it shows that our nurses are committed to the highest standards of emergency care – staying current, staying sharp, and staying ready. Certified nurses = better outcomes, safer patients, and a team you absolutely want on your side.

🥳 Drop a comment to celebrate their accomplishment! 🙌

🩺 SIM-ply the Best! 🎭

Huge shoutout to Jill, who recently became the first nurse at UHS to earn her certification in healthcare simulation. 🤯

In today’s healthcare world, simulation isn’t just practicing, it’s preparation. It allows nurses and other healthcare professionals to simulate everything from high pressure emergencies to delicate procedures in a safe and controlled environment, building confidence and improving patient care.

Jill’s certification means she is at the forefront of shaping smarter, safer, and capable healthcare teams. 🧠

She’s pretty SIMpressive, right? Drop a 👏 or 🎉 to congratulate Jill on her achievement!

🌟 Leadership in Action! 🌟
Last week, our nurse leaders came together for an inspiring session led by our very own internal Nurse Leaders and the incredible Jeff Douchette, DNP, RN, FACHE, FAAN — SVP & Chief Nursing Officer at Press Ganey.

Jeff shared powerful insights on the deep connection between the Human Experience and our Journey to Magnet. His message reinforced the importance of compassion, excellence, and leadership in shaping the future of nursing.

We’re proud to be on this journey together — learning, growing, and leading with heart.💙
