🎉 Congratulations to our talented students! 🎉

We’re proud to recognize the students whose artwork was selected as winning posters in the 2025 Wisconsin State Fire Association Fire Prevention Contest, featuring the theme:🔥 “Charge into Fire Safety: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home” 🔥

Each winning student received an insulated tumbler showcasing their poster—what a cool keepsake! 🖌️✨Their posters will now advance to the state-level competition, with final winners announced at the WSFA Convention in March 2026.

The local contest was proudly sponsored by the Friends of the BFCESD Auxiliary Group. Thank you for your continued support, education, and commitment to our Birchwood School students! ❤️👏

The Birchwood Four Corners Emergency Services District ended 2025 with 293 calls for service, including 196 EMS responses and 97 fire and rescue incidents.

Combined, our Fire & EMS district covers just under 250 square miles, serving an average of 3,500 permanent residents—not including seasonal population increases.

Despite this wide service area and growing demand, our staffing remains limited.
• Fire roster: 23 members
• EMS roster: 8 members
• 6 EMS staff are cross-trained and also respond on the fire side

That means a small, dedicated group of responders is answering the call—day and night—for medical emergencies, structure fires, vehicle accidents, utility incidents, and mutual aid requests from neighboring departments.

Our Fire and EMS teams remain committed to readiness through regular trainings, meetings, and equipment checks to ensure we are prepared when our community needs us most.

To our families, residents, surrounding townships, and partner agencies—thank you for your continued support and trust. It is what allows us to keep showing up, no matter the call.

đźš‘ Ambulance Fundraising Update đźš‘

We’re excited to share another big milestone in our ambulance replacement campaign! We’ve now raised $301,813 toward our goal of $385,000.

That puts us at 78% of our fundraising goal—and we couldn’t be more grateful for the continued support from our incredible community.

Fundraising efforts are still ongoing, and there’s more to come!
⛳ Be on the lookout for details about our Annual Golf Tournament this May, one of our biggest fundraisers each year.

Your generosity helps ensure we can continue to respond safely and effectively when you need us most. Thank you for standing with us every step of the way!

✨ Last night we had a small celebration! ✨

Following our first district meeting of the year, we took time to recognize Vince as he officially retired from the role of EMS Director and to celebrate Sam’s formal start in the position as of January 1st.

Vince’s leadership and dedication have helped shape our EMS program, and we are incredibly grateful for the time, care, and commitment he has given to our community. We’re thankful that Vince will continue to serve on both the Fire and EMS teams and remain a supportive presence.

We are also excited to officially welcome Sam as our new EMS Director. With her dedication, leadership, and passion for serving Birchwood and the surrounding area, we know our EMS department is in excellent hands moving forward.

Thank you, Vince and Sam, for your continued commitment to our community and to the Birchwood Four Corners Emergency Services District. We are proud to have both of you supporting our team and our mission.

A special thank you to our Auxiliary team for helping make last night’s celebration possible — and yes, there was cake! 🎂

Tonight was all about readiness and teamwork!

Our CPR Instructors hosted a refresher course for our firefighters, helping keep lifesaving skills sharp across the department. We’re proud to share that 20 members of our department are CPR certified!

That’s 20 people ready to act in an emergency, both on and off duty. Thank you to our instructors and our crew for their continued dedication.

***USE CAUTION***

Road conditions have deteriorated quickly due to ice forming. Trucks are out but many roads are still very slippery. If you need to be traveling this morning take extra time, slow down and give each other space.

Our area has been forecasting a snowstorm for several days now. It could be a light dusting, or it could be an avalanche. ❄️🤷‍♀️

As of now, it’s possible that our community could see snowfall totals up to 10 inches between today and tomorrow. Travel will be impacted, take it slow, and check on neighbors—especially those who may need extra help. If you’re using alternative heating sources, make sure they’re safe and properly ventilated.

🚑 🚒 911 services will remain fully operational — but we still need to be able to get to you! If you’re able, please keep driveways and walkways clear. If not, don’t worry—we’ll bring backup and do what it takes to get you the services you need.

We hope not to see you during the storm… but if we do, we’ll be there as quickly and safely as possible. Stay warm, stay safe, and let’s all help each other out.

🚨 Ice Safety Reminder 🚨
With the potential for notable snowfall expected in the next 48 hours, we want to share an important safety message:

SNOW INSULATES ICE — it slows down freezing and hides thin or weak spots. This can make ice appear safer and thicker than it actually is.

Our department and surrounding public safety agencies have already responded to multiple cold-water exposure incidents this season. Please help us prevent more.

Be mindful of your safety and the safety of others:

-Stay alert for changing conditions
-When in doubt, stay off the ice

Your safety is our priority. Let’s all work together to ensure a safe winter season. ❄️
