I came to the Lovelady for the first time in early 2022. I had escaped a brutal domestic violence situation coupled with a long standing addiction to alcohol and m**h. The love of Jesus flooded me immediately when I got here, I just didn't know what it was. I knew this place felt different. Amongst many beautiful gestures from the Lord, I had an experience with flowers..
I love flowers. I love that they always represent kindness, affection and generosity. But I had never associated them with the Lord. I was just getting to know Him in those early days.
You see, the man who had been beating me and keeping me tied to a m**h addiction would always present flowers to me after a physical assault. I was confused, tired, hopeless, and really felt like giving up when I first got here. And flowers were associated with manipulation and desperation. UNTIL THE LORD DEFINED THEM FOR ME...
This is how the Lord sees flowers: within the first week at the Lovelady, we received beautiful bouquets that were donated. I remember the first time I got one. As I held it in my hands, I heard the voice of the Lord telling me that these flowers were FROM HIM. That I didn't need that relationship and that those flowers represented HIS love for me. I cried my eyes out and always looked forward to the fresh donation each week! It became a beautiful way for the Lord to redeem this bo***ge off my life and carefully begin to call me to Him. Each week, through this small, generous gesture, I began to experience His heart for me.
Today, I love flowers. I know their Maker!! He crafted every petal, every color, every aroma.... Just like He crafted me - with great Love and tenderness!!
My prayer is that any woman who has been living in fear, terror and oppression will experience this too. God is so amazing and His love is overwhelming. HE GAVE ME FLOWERS and I will never forget it. I treasure them every time I see them. They represent the very heart of God.
Luke 12:28 Sums Him up, I'll let Him tell you....
Verse 28: "Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you!"
