Shift Your Self-Esteem
From Karma Gia

1. Write out a list of things you admire about yourself
It can be difficult, even uncomfortable, to take a seat and consider our positive qualities. However, you can enhance your self-talk by praising your abilities or positive aspects of yourself.
Consider keeping a journal of your accomplishments that you found inspiring or enjoyable. Keeping a gratitude notebook can also greatly enhance your perspective on life and help you identify your blessings.
Don't just jot down every affirmation you read that is positive. Rather, choose affirmations that speak to you and think about learning to accept who you are. What is it that you find admirable and valuable? Keep these qualities in mind the next time you find yourself thinking only bad things. Steer clear of cliches and concentrate on sayings that have personal significance.
2. Stop being a people pleaser
Individuals who have low self-esteem may feel pressured to grant requests. They frequently prioritize the emotional health of others before their own. Being easily overwhelmed at work or in your personal life can result from this. This in turn leads to a great deal of tension.
Being supportive and helpful to others is admirable, but when you base your value on how much you accomplish for other people, your self-esteem gradually declines. Recognize when to say no to people.
3. Step outside your comfort zone
Low self-esteem makes people shy away from chances and challenges. Fears or self-doubt may be the cause of this. However, any kind of success, no matter how tiny, demonstrates to yourself that you are capable of enduring difficult times.
It's not necessary to put yourself in situations that are extremely uncomfortable in order to step outside of your comfort zone. It indicates that you're open to trying new things even in challenging circumstances.
4. Stop comparing yourself to others
The success of other people shouldn't affect your own development or sense of value. Even if there will always be someone who is better than you at something, it doesn't mean you're not competent or good enough at what you do.
Giving up on comparing oneself to others is a difficult habit. However, avoiding social media can support this endeavor. Remind yourself that people only post the most flattering and positive aspects of their lives online if you do decide to browse. Never allow a photo's likes to define your value as a person. Take periodic breaks from digital media to minimize your exposure.
Recognize how unique you are from other people, but keep in mind that your advancement is not a rival to anyone else's.
5. Forgive yourself for your past thoughts
You must be willing to forgive yourself for past self-treatment as you strive to improve your self-esteem. Without acknowledging that you used to be a severe judge of both yourself and other people, you cannot continue on your path of improvement. It's difficult to kick the habit.
Recognizing this shortcoming improves your resilience and self-compassion by enabling you to see yourself clearly. A stronger foundation is what you're creating when you make the decision to have a better relationship with yourself.

Quote of the day...

“Real courage is holding on to a still voice in your head that says, ‘I must keep going.’ It’s that voice that says nothing is a failure if it is not final. That voice that says to you, ‘Get out of bed. Keep going. I will not quit.’”
