B. Earl Salser Jr., M.D., associate professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine, has recently been appointed as the department's inaugural Vice Chair of Education.

Dr. Salser is dedicated to advancing medical education, and the department is thrilled that he is stepping into this role and applying his vision and leadership to advance our educational mission to increase the number and caliber of learners who pursue family medicine.

Join us for our October Grand Rounds, tomorrow at 12:10 p.m. Sports & Exercise Medicine Fellows Agatha Ambrozy, DO, and Alex Hanna, MD, will present, "The Athletic Preparticipation Exam for the Family Medicine Physician."

Objectives:
⚕️ Discuss the key history and physical exam aspects of the preparticipation exam that differentiate it from a routine wellness visit
🫀 Review concerning abnormal physical exam findings and indications for cardiac screening in the athlete
🏃 Identify EKG findings that are abnormal in the general population, but are considered to be normal in the athletic heart.
