In recognition of , we want to take a moment to sincerely thank our administrative team for all that they do for our department.

So much of what allows us to care for patients, advance research, educate our trainees, and support one another depends on their daily efforts. Much of their work happens behind the scenes, but its impact is felt everywhere. Their professionalism, dedication, responsiveness, and kindness help keep this department moving forward and make it a better place for all of us.

Please know that your work does not go unnoticed. We are deeply grateful for all you do to help us achieve our missions and for the many ways you support our faculty, staff, trainees, and patients each day!

Congratulations to our Champions of Safety! From October to December 2025, we recognized three members of our UAB Heersink School of Medicine Department of Radiation Oncology team for their commitment to patient safety, collaboration, and attention to detail.

⭐️ Jonathan Dodson: Dodson always reaches out to therapy when there is a difficult plan. He makes sure we understand the plan, asks our opinion when needed, and is always willing to answer our questions. He takes the extra step to make sure the plan will be delivered accurately and safely.

⭐️ Adam Hubler, M.D.: Hubler remembered an unusual aspect of a patient’s case from when he was previously on my service. He voiced his recommendations for altering the treatment plan in the new patient conference. As a result of his willingness to speak up and his careful attention to detail, he dramatically improved the patient’s quality of care.

⭐️ Tasha White: White is an exemplary example of a champion for safety and positive culture here at UAB. She has always demonstrated this in all her actions regarding patients, not just in her words.

We are grateful for the impact each of you makes every day!
