There’s seems to be a lack of compassion in today’s world. It arises from the inability to step into the shoes of others & view situations from another’s perspective. Most people cannot fathom what other people are going through, yet judge, label & blame others from what they cannot understand. There is pervasive disease of selfishness that is initiated by the refusal to help or support others in life. Lack of compassion occurs when one does not truly feel safe within their own being & projects this unhappiness/misery onto others who may already be suffering inwardly. It creates an endless loop of negativity & even more suffering.

Slowing down sounds simple
until you try to do it

Most people don’t realize how tense they are
until there’s nothing left to distract them

No noise
No movement
No constant doing

Just you and your breath

And for a lot of people…
that feels uncomfortable

Not because something is wrong

You’re not stuck because you lack discipline.

You’re stuck because your system is overloaded.

So you keep trying to:
push harder
stay consistent
get it together

But underneath that…
your body is already in stress.

And when your baseline is stress, you’ll always default back to it.

Even when nothing is actually wrong.

That’s why you keep cycling through:
focus → burnout → reset → repeat

Shifting your focus isn’t about “being positive.”

It’s about changing what your body is trained to look for.

Because what you repeatedly focus on
becomes what your system expects.

And what your system expects
becomes how you live.

Just because something is available

It’s easy to move from a place of urgency-
to say yes, to fill space, to keep momentum going.

They struggle with the loss of control.

The moment life becomes unclear,
they rush to figure it out. Fix it. Define it.

But this space you’re in right now?
It’s not confusion.

It’s a threshold.

And how you move here determines what comes next.

If you rush, you repeat old patterns.
If you stay, something new can actually emerge.

But staying requires something most people avoid:

Not knowing.
Not controlling.
Not forcing clarity.

Most people give their power away without realizing it.

Someone says something rude.
A situation becomes stressful.
A person behaves unpredictably.

And suddenly their nervous system is running the show.

The moment someone else’s behavior dictates your emotional state, you’ve handed over control.

True power is not reacting impulsively to everything happening around you.

It is the ability to remain steady, grounded and clear even when the external environment becomes chaotic.

This is why nervous system regulation matters.

When your breath is steady, your mind becomes clear.
When your mind is clear, your responses become intentional.

And that is where real authority comes from.

When something challenging happens, the nervous system often wants to react immediately- defensiveness, frustration, anger, fear.

But reaction is automatic.
Response is conscious.

And that small space between what happens and how you respond is where your power lives.

The more you learn to pause, breathe and respond intentionally, the more your life begins to move in a different direction.

Your destiny is not determined by what happens to you.

Power isn’t loud.

The women who hold the most influence in a room are rarely the most reactive or the most dramatic.

They are the ones who can stay steady when things move quickly.
When pressure rises.
When others lose their center.

This kind of steadiness doesn’t come from personality. It cannot be manufactured at will.

It comes from a regulated nervous system. From regulating yourself time and time again when external disturbance occurs.

When your nervous system is grounded, you don’t get pulled into every emotional current around you. You respond instead of reacting and behave accordingly.

This is the deeper work I care about- learning how to move through demanding environments without losing yourself in them.

Because true power is quiet, steady, and deeply rooted.

When you find yourself in unstable environments, return to the breath. Steadiness is something you create within- it is not something that is guaranteed in the outside world. Even though the external world will fluctuate and shift constantly, your stability should remain intact throughout it all. You regain your stability through your conscious breath.
