From spine care to regenerative treatments and adaptive sports, Dale Colorado, DO, MPH, helps patients of all abilities stay active and doing what they love. He specializes in treating sports and muscle injuries, nerve and spine conditions, and caring for performers and adaptive athletes, using advanced imaging and non-surgical techniques to guide treatment.

Dr. Colorado serves as Chief of Sports & Exercise Medicine and Medical Director for Performing Arts Medicine within the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. He cares for UAB Athletics as a Team Physician and works with national teams including USA Boccia, USA Wheelchair Rugby, and USA Handball. He also serves as Assistant Dean for Student Experience at the Heersink School of Medicine.

Our fellows are dedicated to supporting every athlete and patient along the path to recovery, from prevention and diagnosis to treatment and rehabilitation. Throughout their training, they’ll gain advanced expertise in key areas of sports medicine, including sports cardiology, ultrasound, comprehensive concussion management, and exercise as medicine, and much more.
