Earlier this month, 25 veterans received $50 each to shop our Mobile Market, thanks to support from The Birmingham, Alabama Chapter of The Links, Incorporated.

The Links, Inc. is one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations for women. We are so grateful for partnerships like this, which help make fresh, nutritious food more accessible in our communities!

Two communities, two grand openings!

Selma and Demopolis recently celebrated the arrival of the Live HealthSmart Alabama Mobile Market, bringing fresh produce and everyday staples directly into the community. Both events featured cooking demonstrations and welcomed residents to explore the grocery store on wheels.

These grand openings mark the start of continued Mobile Market service in both communities, helping expand access to nutritious food across Alabama.

This expansion is made possible through the support of our partners, including UAB - The University of Alabama at Birmingham, Novo Nordisk, The Interrupt, the Alabama Power Foundation, and Ziscuit.

Great to be out at Aunt Katie's Community Garden in Dothan last month.

This two-acre urban farm and apiary is bringing people together around fresh food, gardening, and community. Thanks to the team for having us out for the event.

In honor of its 10th anniversary, Vocabby’s World will host a free birthday party on March 14 at 10:30 a.m. at the Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center - where our Mobile Market will be on site and available to shop!

The program takes pre-K children on travels around the world as they learn vocabulary words through science and arts concepts, providing hands-on activities that reach families in our communities and across the country.

Demopolis showed up!

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the West Alabama Senior Center. We had 16 community members check in on their health, ask questions, and learn more about their numbers!

Healthy food and wellness services, all in one place.

We recently stopped by Trinity Baptist Church in Birmingham, where community members were able to shop fresh, affordable produce through our Mobile Market and received no-cost wellness screenings with Mobile Wellness.

LHSA was proud to participate in the “Level Up Your Future: Make 2026 Your Year” event in Selma.

Hosted in partnership with Dallas County Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, the American Job Center, and Foot Soldier Park, the event brought together organizations committed to expanding access to resources, workforce opportunities, and community support. Outreach events like this are an important part of building stronger, healthier communities.
