AED 365 is growing!!!

GoRescue is very excited to announce the addition of Kelsey Helland to the AED365 Team as our first-ever AED365 Specialist!

Day to day, Kelsey will focus on delivering first-class experiences for our clients via operations, logistics, data management, and customer support activities essential to AED365 program success.

Kelsey brings experience as a Health Education Specialist (CHES®), CPR instructor, EMT, and former U.S. Army medic. She began her career working in cardiac step-down, cardiac ICU, and surgical units, where she witnessed firsthand the aftermath of poor health outcomes. That experience sparked her passion for prevention and inspired her to build a career dedicated to closing the gap in emergency response and improving lifesaving health outcomes. Her background in health education, patient care, and emergency response uniquely supports the growth and operational excellence of the award-winning AED365 program management platform.

We are especially excited to have Kelsey on board because of her dedication to preventive programs and her commitment to advancing healthier, safer communities. As a military spouse, Kelsey, her husband Brandon, and three daughters are currently stationed at Fort Campbell, KY. Together, they enjoy spending time outdoors, especially when their two dogs can join the adventure. In her spare time, she loves visiting the beach, relaxing at a coffee shop, diving into her next self-improvement book, or spending time at the driving range with her family.

While most people in the US enjoyed a well-deserved day off yesterday for Labor Day, nearly 30 new students began their journey with the GoRescue EMS Academy's Accelerated 18-Day EMT courses. That's right, TWO courses at once! In addition to our September class at the GoRescue HQ in Birmingham, we have a concurrent class being held at NorthStar EMS-Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL, to better serve and reach west Alabama. A huge thank-you to our EMS Academy Instructors and students for pushing forward even on a holiday weekend!

Please join us in welcoming Philip Metz to the GoRescue team full-time as our first-ever Training Center Manager, or TCM!

As TCM, Philip is responsible for the day-to-day operational excellence and regulatory compliance of GoRescue’s national Training Center programs under the American Heart Association - CPR & First Aid (AHA), American Red Cross Training Services (ARC), and HSI: Emergency Care (HSI). This leadership role ensures consistency and quality across all training initiatives by overseeing instructor support, new instructor training, instructor renewals, training faculty appointments, training site operations and reviews, and adherence to national guidelines.

As a key member of the Training Services team, the TCM ensures all instructors and training sites are aligned with GoRescue’s mission and standards while also supporting strategic initiatives of our National Training Services Director, Miranda Burnette, especially as we continue to grow.

Philip spent six years as a Certified Flight Paramedic with Air Methods Corporation where he provided critical care air transport to the critically sick and injured. He recently retired as the Medical Division Chief at Okaloosa Island Fire District, where he managed their Advanced Life Support program. He has been actively involved as an educator, providing training in many of the prehospital medical and trauma subject matters. His interest in education has included medical training of the rescue crews at Talladega Superspeedway, where he is one of the original NASCAR Level III trainers, as well as a past member of the NASCAR Pier Review Committee.

In addition to his many professional certifications and training, Philip earned a Master of Science - Management Studies in Emergency Health Systems from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

Philip has two grown boys and three grandchildren. His favorite activity is sailing, and he has been racing sailboats his whole life.
