“Why are my shoulders always tight?”

We hear this every single day in practice.
That tension sitting at the top of your shoulders is not always “just stress.” Long hours at a desk, posture changes, repetitive movement, workouts, poor sleep, and even emotional stress can all increase tension and sensitivity through the neck and upper trapezius muscles.

Research published in the Journal of Back and Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation found that manual therapy and targeted stretching helped improve neck mobility and reduce muscle sensitivity immediately after care.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and one of the most important conversations we can have is about stress and how it impacts the entire body, not just the mind. Chronic stress can keep your nervous system stuck in fight-or-flight, affecting sleep, muscle tension, digestion, focus, mood, and even how your body heals.

4 simple ways to better manage stress:
