Mentorship can shape a career. For UAB Heersink School of Medicine medical student Brenton Bicknell, it helped guide his path to ophthalmology and his decision to continue his training at UAB.

With the support of Rob Tauscher, M.D., Bicknell developed not only as a researcher, but as a future physician-leader. He'll soon begin his ophthalmology residency at UAB Callahan Eye, and we're beyond pleased to have him.

Led by Laura Dreer, Ph.D., Molly Whitney, M.S., LPC, and Laura Griggs, experts in behavioral health & low vision rehab, this support group offers eye health info, coping skills, and social activities to adjust to the challenges of living with visual impairment.
