Exercise is powerful medicine, especially during and after cancer treatment.

New research from the New England Journal of Medicine shows that cancer patients who followed a structured, personalized exercise program for three years saw a 37% improvement in survival rates and a 28% decrease in recurrence compared to those receiving standard care.

At TherapySouth, we believe exercise is an essential part of oncology care. Our physical therapists work with you to create an individualized plan to restore strength, function, and quality of life after cancer treatment.

Congratulations Carol on receiving this well deserved award! She always goes above and beyond for not only her patients, but also her students. This is such an amazing achievement and further recognition of how Carol is impacting the future generations of PT.

Congratulations to Carol Mastroianni PT, DPT at TherapySouth Liberty Park, for receiving the UAB Department of Physical Therapy’s Loretta R. Boger Award for Excellence in Clinical Education! We are grateful for her dedication to mentoring the next generation of physical therapists. It’s always exciting to welcome back former students into Staff Physical Therapist roles, like Carol’s former student, Laura Lopresti, who is pictured above.

We also want to thank our instructors for their outstanding mentorship and the positive impact they have on our students’ journeys. We appreciate everything you do!
