This post is for the ones that are in a codependent relationship and don’t know how to get out of it. Or the ones that feel like someone you love is pushing you away. And the ones trying to establish a new healthy relationship and you aren’t sure where to draw the lines.

Let me tell you a little about Experiential Therapy.

In the wise words of my Experiential Therapist trainer, "You can only take your patients as far as you have gone yourself."

I have my own therapist that I see regularly. While we have tried a couple different therapeutic techniques and approaches, Experiential Therapy has been the most effective for me personally. I have invested a lot of hours into training in this technique and will continue. While I understand that it may not be the right approach for everyone, I have passion and my own positive healing experiences to contribute to offering this therapeutic technique to my clients.

Thoughts vs. Feelings

It is easy to confuse thoughts and feelings. I’m guilty of it myself. A helpful distinction is that emotions come from your heart and thoughts come from your head.

Emotions are something you feel in your body. They are visceral. Emotions can generally be described in one word and that one word carries a lot of meaning for people. And that shared meaning creates connection.
