I get the same question over and over again. How do I find a therapist/counselor? What does LMFT. LCSW, LPC, PsyD, LCMH mean? What Is CBT, TF, ACT, or DBT mean? Well, I did a video to break down some foundational things when it comes to finding a therapist/counselor using the platform Psychology Today.

Over the last decade, we have seen our nation become numb to the things that once fueled us to a place of action, awareness, and empathy. We have watched a nation that went into action when tragedy happens to a place of watching as though it is the norm. This mindset and mentality have caused us to not only become numb but display actions of higher anxiety, depression, and lack of motivation. We live in a space where tragedy has become part of life and not something we can fight for in life. Listen as we discuss how to become unnumb to these things and process the feelings, actions, and emotions of what is going on in our nation that affects our mental health.

Over the last two weeks, we have witnessed, seen, and heard about massive shootings taking place in our nation. We have watched family members be on edge as they way to see if their loved one is alive or in the number of those reported dead on the scene. Yesterday was no different. We watched the news report of a massive shooting that took place at an elementary school in Texas. We listen as parents cried, some worried, and others paralyzed in shock at the news that this could happen at their kid's school. During these moments we hear talk about the mental health of the shooter; however, we can see that hate is not a mental health issue, it is an emotion that can affect one's mental health. Join us as we talk about the misusage of mental health.

We all deal with relationships and the difficulties that come with them. Today we will explore how we see relationships, what influences our perspective of relationships, and why we do we invest in relationships the way we do.

Society has told us that there are goals and agendas that we must have or accomplish by a certain time in order to be seen as successful. These goals and agendas cause us to set unrealistic expectations that we find ourselves overwhelmed by. That overwhelmeness then turns into anxiety and that anxiety produces the fruit of depression. Join us as we dive into the effects of unrealistic expectations and how they affect our mental health.

05/19/2022

For the last year we have seen depression from another side, as we see many people who seem happy, outgoing, and active commit su***de. On today’s “Therapist Tip Thursday”, we will talk about what depression looks like, from the various clinical perceptions. We will also explore how we overlook the strong active friend when they are the ones, we need that we really need to pay attention to.

Working on you can be hard. A lot of times we don’t realize that what we are asking from others through the labels we give them are actually things that we need to seek within ourselves. Join our in-house therapist as she discusses how mislabeling others is actually us needing to seek something within ourselves.

05/17/2022

A lot of times we have people in our life that continue to disappoint us despite the labels we give them. We have people in our life that we didn't give labels to, yet they gain them by blood, yet they never live up to the expectations of the role. These titles and labels we give can cause us to be placed in areas of rejection, insecurity, deperession, guardedness, as well as other negative emotions. We find ourselves expecting people to meet expectations that they don't have the capability to meet and we get the fruit of brokenness because of this. Join us as we dive deep into how mislabeling people not only affects our mental health but also affects how we interact and build relationships.

T.C.C. History

The Cultivation Center is a mental health consulting firm housed at and through Mind of Christ International Church. TCC, specializes in creating mental health systems for churches and providing personal therapeutic services. We seek to create educational moments, support, counseling, and provide life applicable tools to help those that particularly work in the field of ministry. We also create customized training for churches seeking to take their church to the next kingdom level, through the incorporation of team building exercises, mental health technique using biblical principles, and communication skills with conflict resolution.

As an organization, we pride ourselves on the use of the 4 E’s: Educating Leaders, Establishing Systems, Encouraging People, and Engaging the kingdom.

Please feel free to touch bases with us for your mental health needs. Our goals are simple...We seek to marry ministry and mental health together, to kill the stigma, decrease ignorance, and engage conversation.
