UAB Eye Care is the clinical operation of the UAB School of Optometry. The state-of-the-art clinic is located on the ground floor in the Henry Peters Building at 1716 University Boulevard, next door to the Lister Hill Library of the Health Sciences. It is a multidisciplinary clinic with both optometrists and ophthalmologists providing eye care in a number of subspecialties. The clinic is comprised of 34,000 square feet of space with all of the modern equipment needed to accurately diagnose and treat most eye problems for children and adults.

Freshman outside hitter Kennedy Vaughn is already making an impact for UAB Women’s Volleyball and she’s also part of a standout student-athlete community supported by BlazerVision.

BlazerVision is a collaborative initiative between UAB Athletics, the UAB School of Optometry/UAB Eye Care, and the Department of Ophthalmology, designed to provide comprehensive eye care and vision performance services to UAB student-athletes.

Under the care of Dr. Kathy Weise and the BlazerVision team, Kennedy recently received contact lenses to enhance her visual performance on the court. This tailored support helps athletes maintain optimal vision, reduce their risk of injury, and compete at their highest level.
