I just heard that Lee Lehman passed on yesterday. She was a shining beacon in the revival of traditional astrology.
In Memoriam - Dr. Lee Lehman:
The foundation of Kepler College began in 1994 with Maggie Nalbandian leading a group of astrologers with the audacity to create a degree granting college with Washington State approval for AA, BA and MA degrees that included history, language, literature, botany and astrology. When Kepler College opened in 2000, Lee was co-Academic Dean with Dennis Harness, both with the required PhD. Lee and Dennis had god’s gift of a great faculty with Rob Hand, Demetra George, Georgia Stathis, Mark Urban Lurain, PhD, Nick Campion, Karen Hamaker-Zondag and Bruce Scofield, but by 2003 Kepler College had 3 different Presidents. At the time, retired from teaching, I was on the Kepler College Board and our leader, Joanne Wickenburg, asked if I would serve as President of Kepler College. I accepted, and again Lee and I worked closely for several years with a focus on good education for astrologers.
As is known in our community, Kepler College could not get accredited to complete the requirements for a degree-granting college. The “scarlet letter”, astrology, was the hold back. Nonetheless, Lee Lehman came back to Kepler College as the head and creator of the Medical Astrology diploma that is doing very well with Will Morris and other good specialists teaching.
Lee’s dozen books from “Essential Dignities” in 1989, to “Classical Astrology for Modern Living from Ptolemy to Psychology & Back Again” in 2026 are foundational texts for astrologers around the world.
Lee’s legacy is built on high standards for everything she ever did from teaching, to mentoring, to writing. She is now at peace in heaven with all the love and blessings from all who knew her, and down the road, we’ll all meet again.
