A few weeks ago, I had the flu and recovery was slow because my energy was completely wiped out. Being forced to slow down gave me space to really think through my goals and the changes I want to make this year. It ended up being a productive time I didn’t even know I needed. Defensiveness kills communication. And lack of communication kills relationships. Defensiveness can become second nature. We’ve got to break the habit, and be mindful in our response to requests or complaints.
