Emma Sartin, PhD, and researchers from Children's Hospital of Philadelphia published a study in American Journal of Public Health that found no single technology is effective in preventing all scenarios that lead to pediatric vehicular heatstroke (PVH). Their findings suggest the best prevention strategy requires a combination of interventions. Using data from the UAB School of Public Health REasons for Geographic and Racial Differences in Stroke (REGARDS) study, researchers at UAB found mini strokes are linked to future cognitive decline at a rate comparable to full strokes.
