Getting back to helping people to represent themselves in the best way possible is helping me to grieve and cope and honor.

A little filler, a little toxin, a little skin rejuvenation. We focused more on the upper face for phase one and will move to lower face next. Just a reminder that it doesn’t all have to happen at once. Everything is a process. And that’s okay too.

It is with great sadness that we share that our dear father, Leon Hartman, Jr took his last breath last night after being diagnosed with colon cancer on Father’s Day. My father was the epitome of a great man, wonderful father, kind human, provider, counselor, comedian, prayer warrior and friend. This is a shocking and jarring loss. He was 77 years old and on no medications. He ran and/or swam every morning. He was my fitness inspiration, my hero, my role model and the best daddy in the world. This void will never be filled but the memories and lessons will hold us and may God grant us His peace.

Shout out to my queen as she celebrates 25 years of fulfilling the mission of our beloved Meharry. It’s good for the soul to be back at the place where we met with those who nourished us and supported our dreams from the very beginning. So much love was in the place last night. Bountiful joy. 🤍

Earlier this week we were fortunate to celebrate the establishment of the Erika Bridgeforth Hartman DDS and Corey Louis Hartman MD Endowed Faculty Scholar in Resident Education at the UAB Heersink School of Medicine Department of Dermatology.

We believe that from whom much is given, much is required and it was an honor to bestow this award on Dr. Lauren Kole, residency director.

It was a wonderful time with family, friends and colleagues. We are so happy to leave a lasting legacy on our alma mater.

We were cracking up and then realized that it’s an AI trend going around. So this is my official announcement that I will never use AI for headshots because to quote the great - I don’t know who this man is. I am sorry to this man!

AAD 2025. I was there for a good time, not a long time. I presented all new data on SkinCeuticals’ latest innovation RGN-6, shared my experience using the Aerolase NeoDerm laser in my practice and participated in an advisory board meeting for SkinBetter’s new BioRewind supplement. And then of course we kicked it like only dermatologists can. And 26 hours (actually 25 since we lost an hour) later I was home after an event filled week of celebrations. I’m tired!

50. Years. Old.

I want to thank you Heavenly Father for shining your light on me. I’m here by the grace of God. The devil tried to take me out a few times but I made it. I’m here. I’m blessed. I’m thriving. I’m grateful.

It really is true that life comes at you fast. And if you don’t take the time to really live, it will pass you by.

I’d tell my younger self that it’s always been within you. And to rely on that and not on the external. And to keep trusting your instinct. It hasn’t failed me yet.

To 50 years of a purpose filled life. L’Chaim!
