Dr. Kent Michael

Dr. Kent Michael I’m a leadership consultant and developmental psychologist, serving as Executive Director of the Alabama Center for Pastoral Resilience.

I work with pastors and ministry leaders and care deeply about resilient, emotionally steady leadership. I’ve spent more than a decade helping leaders grow in clarity, resilience, and purpose. As a leadership coach and educator, I’ve taught at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and have led training seminars for businesses, schools, and faith-based organizations. Coming from generations of ministers, I know firsthand how demanding the work of ministry can be. That lived experience fuels my desire to serve as a trusted resource for pastors and Christian leaders as they navigate the emotional, relational, and vocational challenges of leadership. I hold a Master of Education in Marriage and Family Counseling from the University of Montevallo and a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from The University of Alabama. At home, I enjoy quiet weekends with my wife and our three children. My favorite pastimes include fly fishing, hiking, watching Alabama football, and producing music for our church.

Lead Steady. Stay Resilient. Avoid Burnout.

Ministry demands clarity under pressure, emotional stamina, and the ability to lead others without losing yourself.

This fall, I’m inviting 6 pastors into the Resilient Minister Cohort—a 9-month experience built to increase your capacity, sharpen your leadership, and help you stay grounded when things get tough.

Grounded in systems thinking and practical theology, this cohort is for leaders who want to:

✔ Function at a higher level without overfunctioning
✔ Stay calm and connected when anxiety rises
✔ Protect themselves (and their families) from burnout
✔ Lead with long-haul effectiveness—not just survive

Includes monthly gatherings, targeted coaching, and peer support.

Only 3 spots remain. Scholarships available. Message me for details.
