Melanoma Monday kicks off Skin Cancer Awareness Month ☀️🖤

It’s a reminder to protect your skin and stay proactive about early detection. Melanoma is one of the most serious forms of skin cancer, but when caught early, it is highly treatable.

A monthly self-check can make all the difference. Here’s how to do it:
• Check your entire body, including hard-to-see areas like your scalp, back, and between your toes
• Use mirrors or ask for help to examine areas you can’t easily see
• Look for new moles or spots, or changes in existing ones
• Follow the ABCDEs: Asymmetry, Border irregularity, Color variation, Diameter larger than a pencil eraser, and Evolving over time

Why it matters:
Your skin is your largest organ, and changes can happen quickly. Getting familiar with your own skin helps you notice anything new or unusual early, when treatment is most effective.
