Welcome to our new employee, Erica Britt!
She grew up in this area, graduating from Oak Mountain High School. She has a degree in Business Administration/Healthcare Management from Huntingdon College and is joining our front office team.

A recurring theme heard in business now is that it is hard to find good people who want to work. If you know of someone who you think would help us care well for the residents of our community, please have them call us. We are currently looking for a full time medical assistant/LPN, and might also need someone to help in our front office.

We are interviewing for an LPN or CMA to join our team. Duties will primarily involve patient care, including scheduling of testing and appointments. There will also be some oversight of basic tests we do in-office, and patient notification of lab results. Applications may be sent to contact@northshelbyfamilyhealth.com.

THANK YOU!!! We greatly appreciate everyone who has blessed us during the pandemic.
Patients have bought lunch for the office; given us masks, treats and disinfectant spray. Your kindness and generosity are greatly valued.

(Yes, in case you see any, we continue to need more disinfectant spray.)

Thank you to our gracious patients who have blessed us during the COVID-19 pandemic! We have also had many to ask what they could do to help us. Here is a significant way you may invest in our ministry. We are running low on disinfecting spray like Lysol. If you have an extra can, we could put it to good use. Thanks!!
This is also our next "Guess who this is" picture.

As we continue to see patients in their cars or under their tents, we thought we would do a quiz to see how well you can identify our staff in their protective gear. Who is this? (Family members can't guess.)

A followup to our post about COVID-19 changes: If a patient is unable to come in to be seen, we are doing telemedicine visits.
And a "big thank you" for your kind comments! We are working hard to keep all of our people healthy!

North Shelby Family Health’s COVID-19 Plan

Changes to our practice have been necessary so that we are here for our patients. We also desire to provide ongoing employment for the staff members who take such good care of you.

This is how we are limiting interactions while still providing the excellent care you have come to expect:

All patients are seen outside and asked to keep their nose and mouth covered with a mask, scarf, wash cloth or other material. If you have gloves, please wear them.

Sick patients never leave their cars and are seen in the afternoons.

Well patients are usually seen in the morning. They are also seen in tents which we have placed on our parking lot.

Our doors are locked- call when you arrive for your appointment and you will be given instructions.

Copays and deductibles are paid over the phone when you arrive.

On some days we will decrease our office hours. An example of this is that instead of staying until 5pm, we are sending our staff home in the afternoon after all our appointments.

Frequently asked questions/concerns:

Why didn’t someone answer my phone call?
If you call in the afternoon and there is no answer after two tries, then we have likely gone home for the day.

We have been told we should avoid crowds; we are being told not to come to the doctor for routine things.

NSFH is set up to see our patients in ways other offices cannot. The only people you will be around are the nurses and the doctor/nurse practitioner.

Why can’t I wait until this is over?

This may not be over as soon as everyone hopes. The situation will also likely worsen before it gets better. Let us take care of you now to help prevent other problems in the future.

Why are you seeing patients at your office when telemedicine is an option?

Our first concern is the safety of our patients and staff. If that can be assured, then seeing patients in person is the best way to communicate well about health matters.

Yes, we are still open- even for routine visits! See our next post for details.
