Growing up I was different. I was the smart kid. Quiet kid. Good kid. These labels kept me out of trouble and afforded me opportunities that other peers weren't given.
I believed in the power of "fake it until I make it" hoping that one day it would all fall into place... Instead, things fell apart.
Ignoring myself for the benefit of fitting in caused real damage to my brain and heart. That's part of the reason I'm so passionate about honoring unique minds and processing emotions as they come. We all have natural strengths. We all have human rights. We all deserve to be respected. We all deserve to feel affirmed in our differences and identities.
Different is more than okay. It's real. It's inevitable. It's power.
