Every once in a while, some effect of Dr Rolf’s method of Structural Integration is studied!

The full introduction has a nice batch of information regarding the practice.

Introduction: There are multiple theories surrounding the physiological impact of structural integration (SI) with little evidence or research corroborating any of these. The aim of the study was to assess the effectiveness of 10 sessions of SI on fascial tissue (FT) superficial blood perfusion, sti...

Listen to original audio recordings of Dr. Ida Rolf teaching.

Experience her wit, wisdom and vision of structural integration.

In “Ida Teaches What Does Breath Have to Do With the Sacrum?” she speaks about William Garner Sutherland, DO. She says Sutherland snuck in study of Emanuel Swedenborg.

Sutherland’s theory was that the lungs were not the organ of respiration but that the spine was the organ of respiration. The spine is a pumping device.

Here is the link to our website where the audio recordings are posted. https://www.rolf.org/ida_teaches.php

Repost • To me bodywork is such a unique and rewarding career path. It demands emotional and physical strength to perform a quality session. It requires me to constantly be learning and it has taught me to be a better listener. Some sessions require more empathy for a client. Some sessions require a lot of strength and endurance. Some require a lot of knowledge in a particular area of the body. Some clients have a lot of energy and it requires me to be extra grounded so I don’t take their energy on as my own. Some clients require attention in areas of their bodies that have become dormant. Some clients simply want somebody to give them their undivided attention and just hold space. The reward is seeing clients walk into my office seeking to take better care of themselves and watching them leave more alive, capable, and with a better relationship with their mind and body. I’ve missed helping people heal.
I use a variety of methods geared towards helping clients on an individual basis. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or are interested in how my work could be beneficial to you.
