What a wonderful dinner and presentation we had tonight. Thank you so much Wendy Brockway and Argenex for sponsoring the meeting, Perry’s never disappoints! In case you missed the meeting, we announced that the National INS-Intravenous Nursing Society made the decision that they will no longer provide the resources to support local chapters and we will cease to exist at the close of business tomorrow. There are other resources and groups that support the field of infusion nursing and we highly encourage you to get involved with the National INS to stay abreast of infusion news or look at the AVA. I’m copying and posting the letter the officers received from the National office. Gwenda, Theresa, and I have truly loved getting to know all of you. For me personally, I am heartbroken. I think I attended my first INS meeting in 1998. It was me, Terry Hampton, Donna Fulton, and Anna Chambliss. I’ve learned so much since then! We will continue to update this page with announcements, job postings, etc as long as there is interest. Much love to you all-Terry Sanfilippo, RN
INS Secretary

Here’s the letter from INS:

Dear INS Chapter Board Members,
After careful consideration and much thoughtful deliberation, the INS Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to sunset the chapter program due to a continued decline in engagement and participation. While we recognize the dedication and hard work that many of you have put into maintaining your local chapters, the ongoing challenges in sustaining them have led to this necessary course of action.
To ensure a smooth and organized transition, we ask that each chapter review any planned future events and provide a schedule to INS National no later than [deadline date]. This will allow us to align a phased closing plan while minimizing disruption for any chapters who may have scheduled events that required deposits or other commitments.
Additionally, we understand that some chapters may need to issue prorated refunds to members who may have paid annual membership dues. Please assess your chapter’s membership roster and if you require guidance on handling refunds or other administrative matters, provide a summary of any outstanding obligations so we can assist with coordination of next steps and send to maria.connors@ins1.org. We are here to support you throughout this process.
For chapters that are ready for dissolution, we ask that you take the necessary steps to close down the chapter bank account and wire any remaining funds to INS National Headquarters using the attached wire instructions. These funds will be donated to the Gardner Foundation dedicated to scholarships supporting infusion education.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work through this transition.

Sincerely,
Danielle Jenkins
INS President
