Residents and staff at Fairhope Health and Rehab celebrated National Chip and Dip Day!! We learned that Pennsylvania is the potato chip capital of the U.S. with over 20 manufacturing plants, and that BBQ and sour cream and onion were the first two types of flavored potato chips!!! And we remembered that you still can’t just eat one.

What better way to celebrate the first day of spring than with a Spring Fling Carnival. Today, Extendicare hosted a spring carnival for our resident complete with food, games, prizes , music and beautiful weather. Thank you to Gentiva and Vitas Hospice as well as the Future Leaders of the Wiregrass from Ridgecrest Baptist Church for their help in making the carnival a success!

Allen Health & Rehabilitation residents and staff were blessed with a spirit-filled and joyous celebration of Mass with Father Victor P. Ingalls, Executive Director of the Office of Multicultural Ministry of the Archdiocese of Mobile, and Deacon Ronnie Hathorne, Director of the Office of the Permanent Diaconate. Executive Director Patricia James came in on her day off to assist with the service. Allen Health & Rehabilitation has a rich Catholic history, and we are so grateful to continue to provide this service to our residents, families, and staff.

The residents in Springs Manor Assisted Living had a great time playing indoor kickball! Debbie won the competition with a grand total of 2,400 points after three rounds, but they all played like champions!

Allen Health & Rehabilitation residents enjoyed a special birthday celebration sponsored by Vitas Paw Pal. Our special guest and the life of the party was "Peaches" the chihuahua. We love therapy animals! They offer emotional comfort, encourage physical activity, promote social interaction and assist in recovery. Our residents and staff enjoyed this pet therapy and look forward to the next visit.

As part of National Social Work Month, Allen Health & Rehabilitation celebrated a very special individual who has grown throughout her tenure at Allen. Wanda Robinson is a Certified Nursing Assistant and Medication Assistant Certified who has recently accepted the role as Social Services Assistant. She continues to demonstrate professionalism with a heart of compassion for our residents and the staff at Allen, and she has . done an exemplary job. The Allen team celebrated with her with her favorite pizza, and Executive Director Patricia James presented her a gift from Allen's "Red HeartBeats" Red Hat Society. We are so proud of the growth and leadership that Wanda has demonstrated as a Social Services Assistant, advocate, and team player. Congratulations, Wanda, you are greatly appreciated!
