Congratulations to the Jacksonville State Gamecocks on a hard-fought 17–13 victory over the Troy Trojans in the IS4S Salute to Veterans Bowl.

It was a great season for both programs, capped by an exciting bowl matchup. Proud of our Jacksonville State team physicians — Dr. Jay Umarvadia, Dr. Wayne McGough, and Dr. Zankhan Mirani (fellow) — who were honored to help keep the Gamecocks healthy and competing all season long.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of Christina Chambers. She was a wonderful person, a talented storyteller, and someone we always enjoyed working with on stories. Our hearts are especially with her young son and family, as well as the entire WBRC FOX6 family, during this unimaginable time.

We are absolutely heartbroken to share this news. Former WBRC sports reporter Christina Chambers was one of two people found dead in a Hoover home Tuesday morning in an apparent murder-suicide. 💔 Please keep their family and your WBRC family in your thoughts as we navigate this loss.

We are saddened by the passing of Roy Kramer — a visionary commissioner and respected leader of the Southeastern Conference. Mr. Kramer served as the SEC commissioner from om 1990-2002.

His impact on college athletics will be felt for generations. Our heartfelt thoughts are with his family, friends, and the entire SEC community.

The SEC mourns the passing of Roy Kramer, who served as the sixth commissioner of the Southeastern Conference as well as athletics director at Vanderbilt University.

Our condolences to his family and many friends all across college sports.
