Construction continues to advance at our future home in Brookwood Village as we move toward our targeted Summer 2027 opening.

Recent milestones include demolition activities nearing completion, the start of shallow foundations and retaining wall work for new additions, and initial interior framing as preparations continue for upcoming mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Additional progress includes continued preparation for new structural framing and exterior elements as the next phase of construction takes shape.

Led by Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC, Hammes and Veritas Real Estate Advisors, this transformation reflects the same commitment to excellence our patients expect from Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center.

We’re building more than a facility — we’re building the future of orthopaedic and sports medicine care for our community. We look forward to sharing continued progress in the months ahead.

Full-circle moment at Pelham High School. 👏

After helping take care of the next generation during today’s sports physicals, Dr. Emily Bell Casey noticed something new on the wall at the school — her newly displayed Pelham High School Sports Hall of Fame plaque (HOF Class of 2026).

From student-athlete to team physician, it’s a powerful reminder of what it means to give back to the community that helped shape you.

We’re proud to serve the Pelham community and support these athletes as they chase their own path to Victory Over Injury®.

Before the record-breaking performance…there was recovery.

In 1985, Dr. James Andrews performed shoulder surgery on a young Boston Red Sox pitcher named Roger Clemens.

Less than a year later, Clemens returned to the mound and delivered one of the most dominant performances in baseball history - 20 strikeouts in a single game.

It’s a powerful reminder that elite performance doesn’t happen by chance. It’s built through precise diagnosis, expert surgical care, and a disciplined return-to-play process.

At Andrews Sports Medicine, that same commitment drives everything we do— helping athletes at every level pursue their own version of Victory Over Injury®.

Editor’s note: All quotes from Roger Clemens in this story are from his 1987 autobiography with Peter Gammons, titled “Rocket Man: The Roger Clemens Story.”

Youth baseball should build athletes — not lead to early surgery.

Through our ongoing research at the American Sports Medicine Institute (ASMI), we continue to see a rise in Tommy John surgeries among youth players — a preventable trend driven by overuse and lack of recovery.

Parents and coaches play a critical role:
• Monitor pitch counts
• Enforce rest periods
• Avoid year-round throwing
• Take elbow pain seriously

At Andrews Sports Medicine, we’re committed to protecting the long-term health of every athlete — because the goal is not just performance today, but longevity tomorrow.

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – An alarming trend is taking hold in youth baseball — a rise in young athletes needing Tommy John surgery. It’s a procedure mainly for pitchers due to wear and tear on the elbow. Tommy John surgery is named after the former MLB pitcher of the same name, who was the first ...

For decades, Brad Riegel snow skied every winter in Tahoe City, California.

In recent years, knee pain became part of Brad’s journey—osteoarthritis that progressed to bone-on-bone discomfort. After years of conservative treatment from Dr. Ricardo Colberg to help manage symptoms and pain, the decision was made to pursue a long-term solution.

With the guidance of Dr. Ricardo Colberg and Dr. Christopher Garrett, Brad made the decision to move forward with a total knee replacement in June, 2025. With a strong commitment to prehab and rehab, his comeback took shape.

Months after surgery, he returned to Tahoe City and was able to ski again—something that once felt uncertain.

Brad’s message is simple: “Don’t wait. With the right team and the right mindset, it’s possible to return to the activities you love.”
