Today is National Latinx AIDS Awareness Day ( ), a day to promote HIV testing, prevention, and treatment within Hispanic/Latino/Latina communities.

In 2023, Hispanic people accounted for over one-third of new HIV diagnoses in the U.S., despite making up only 19% of the population.

This year’s theme, “Should I get tested for HIV? YES!”, highlights the urgent need to address the stigma, language barriers, and limited access to care that contribute to this disparity.

Knowledge is power. Testing is prevention. Treatment is life.

If you've ever wondered "Should I get tested for HIV?" the answer is yes! Know your status, get tested today with us at our Living Well Health Clinic located inside our building. www.bhamhub.com

After the screening: live talk-back with real program participants. Ask questions. Get real answers. Be part of the conversation.

🕯️ Today in History: October 11, 1987 🕯️

On this day, the AIDS Memorial Quilt was displayed for the very first time on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., during the National March on Washington for Le***an and Gay Rights.

Conceived in 1985 by activist Cleve Jones, the Quilt became the largest piece of community folk art in the world - each panel lovingly made to honor someone lost to the AIDS pandemic.

It stands as a powerful symbol of love, remembrance, and resilience, raising awareness and keeping alive the memory of those we’ve lost while inspiring continued compassion and understanding around HIV.
