There are so many important vitamins that are needed during pregnancy, but folic acid is always on the list!

Six hundred micrograms of folic acid is recommended daily for all reproductive women. Folic acid helps prevent birth defects of the brain and spine.

Most prenatal vitamins have 400 micrograms of folic acid and the other 200 can be absorbed through diet, such as cereal, bread, peanuts, dark, green, leafy vegetables, orange juice, and beans.
