Is it okay to wear a pad all day for incontinence?
While it’s generally safe, changing your pad regularly - ideally every 4 to 6 hours is essential for hygiene and comfort. Wearing a soiled pad for extended periods can lead to skin irritation, odor, and even infections. Moisture and warmth create a perfect environment for bacteria, which can cause rashes or urinary tract issues if not managed properly.

If you're relying on pads daily, consider talking to your provider about long-term solutions like pelvic floor therapy or other treatment options. Birmingham ObGyn is here to help you stay healthy and confident every day.
