I grew up in Huntsville, AL, also known as Rocket City, where I was introduced to engineering at a young age.

Dr. Karen Vines is bringing personalized, attentive care to patients in Birmingham, Alabama through a concierge medical model, offering extended visits, same or next day appointments, direct communication, and more! However, I soon discovered that my true passion was in medicine. I attended UAB for both my undergraduate studies and medical school, where I found my calling in family medicine. I realized I wanted to advocate for patients and provide the kind of comprehensive care in a way that only primary care physicians can. In 2016, I joined Grandview Medical and have cherished the opportunity to care for so many wonderful patients, all of whom I consider friends. While my time at Grandview has been deeply rewarding, I have decided to pursue a more personalized approach to primary care. Outside of work, I love spending time with my husband and our two children. We enjoy hiking, swimming, biking, and watching movies together

I am excited to announce the opening of my new independent concierge family medicine practice, Vines Concierge Medicine!

As a family medicine physician, my goal has always been to advocate for my patients, ensure they feel heard, and provide guidance to support their long-term health.

At Vines Concierge Medicine, the primary difference is TIME. I will now be able to offer longer, unrushed visits to spend meaningful time with my patients, build strong relationships, and provide more comprehensive care than in a traditional practice.

I’ll also offer direct communication during business hours and after hours for urgent issues, same-day or next-day appointments, and more!
