🤷♀️🤔 What’s Wrong Wednesday- Follow Up 🤔🤷♂️
❓Did you answer correctly⁉️ 🙋
🧐 Diagnosis ✍️…This patient sustained a glenohumeral joint (shoulder) dislocation where the ball pops out of the socket ☄️
✅ As the ball 🔘 is forced over the edge of the socket, the labrum and associated ligaments are torn 🔥 or damaged (called a Bankart tear), which can result in recurrent instability (shoulder continues
to slip out of place)
✅ Occasionally, the dislocation breaks of a piece of the front of the edge of the socket, known as a bony 🦴 Bankart
✅ In addition this patient also tore his rotator cuff, the tendon that attaches at the top of the ball to help lift the arm overhead 🏋️♀️
✅ Individually, each type of injury frequently requires, but the combination of both injuries necessitates surgery to allow for proper healing 🙏🏻 and restoration of function 🙌
