“When you have one of your co-workers on speed dial, you realize what an asset they are to you and the hospital. When I started as an educator, Mandy welcomed me with open arms and mentored me throughout my career. She has such a passion for her unit, she is constantly advocating for her staff and patients when it comes to education, new products, and new procedures. She is always thinking of new and better resources for her staff. She is on several committees,
leads several committees, and is doing so much work to make the 12th floor transition seamless for the 7th floor. Mandy is a great role model and made a large impact on my career.”

Each year, Children’s of Alabama selects one patient to serve as our Children's Miracle Network champion. Timothy is this year’s local champion! Hear from Timothy and his family as they reflect on his kidney transplant journey and time at Children’s.

As a local champion, Timothy’s story will be shared throughout the state. Meet Timmy, our Children's Miracle Network Local Champion for 2026! 💫

Each year, a patient and their family are selected to represent Children’s nationally as our Local Champion. This patient becomes the “face” of our hospital and serves as an advocate and ambassador. You may see Timmy's big smile throughout the year at your local Walmart, Sam’s Club, Publix, Love’s Travel Stops, ACE Hardware, and more!
