The CHI Health Community Health Improvement Grants Program is funded by contributions from our member hospitals. In awarding community grants, CHI Health actively partners with non-profit organizations working to improve health and quality of life in the communities we serve.

🎉 We have incredibly exciting news to share! Please join us in celebrating the remarkable achievement of our very own Missy Wetsch, who recently completed The Common Good Academy program through the prestigious Lloyd Dean Institute for Humankindness & Health Justice!

This intensive four-month virtual program is a testament to Missy's dedication to continuous learning and professional development. The Academy's core mission is to deepen understanding of health disparities and champion how kindness, compassion, empathy, and trust can significantly improve health equity and social justice. This aligns seamlessly with CommonSpirit Health's mission to make the healing presence of God known by improving health for all, especially the vulnerable, and advancing social justice.

The program equipped Missy with invaluable knowledge on the historical context of racial and ethnic disparities and practical skills to foster a more just healthcare environment. This work is fundamental to CommonSpirit Health's commitment to addressing health disparities and positioning us as an industry leader.

Missy's enhanced understanding of health equity concepts will directly bolster St. Alexius's commitment to addressing health needs, with a special focus on serving our poor, vulnerable, and marginalized patients. She plans to share her valuable learnings with our health equity steering committee, contributing significantly to our collective work to address the health disparities our patients experience.
