🎄 Who says training days can’t be fun? Our teams gathered for our monthly TED training today and we made sure to sprinkle in some holiday cheer along the way!

After wrapping up our sessions, we teamed up for a virtual escape room and enjoyed a baked potato bar together in the dining room. ❤️💚

Join the Bismarck Memory Cafe this Saturday! Stop by the Dream Center on December 13th at 10:00 a.m. This welcoming space is open to caregivers, those living with memory loss, and anyone in the community who’d like to connect, no registration required.

The holidays can be beautiful and really hard when someone you love is living with dementia and you’re grieving the way things used to be.
You’re invited to the Bismarck Memory Cafe: “Finding Light in the Season”
A gentle, supportive morning to honor loved ones with dementia, acknowledge the grief we carry, and make room for hope.

Saturday, December 13
10:00–12:00
Dream Center Bismarck

Marvin Winstryg, Sanford Hospice Chaplain, along with music volunteer Peder Gulleson, will share reflections, music, and encouragement to help you navigate this holiday season.
We will also have candles to light in honor of your loved one.

This gathering is open to caregivers, those living with memory loss, and community members.
No registration required, just come as you are.

Please share and invite a friend who might need this. We’d be honored to have you join us.

Due to the freezing rain and No Travel Advised in our area, our Bismarck and Minot Day Centers will be closed today for the safety of our participants, caregivers, and staff.

Our Bismarck Participant Christmas Party scheduled for today will be rescheduled.

Please stay safe, stay warm, and avoid travel unless absolutely necessary.

On Saturday, some of our staff and participants joined the Downtown Fargo Holiday Lights Parade, decorating one of our PACE buses with festive lights and smiles all around.

📝 Tips & Tricks: Understanding Power of Attorney (POA)

Power of Attorney can be confusing, but it’s an important part of making sure your loved one’s wishes are respected.

Here are a few key things to know:
1️⃣ Not all POAs are active right away. Some only go into effect when certain conditions are met.
2️⃣ There are two main types:

Healthcare POA: for medical decisions when a person can’t decide for themselves.

Financial POA: for managing money, property, or business matters.
3️⃣ We always review documents first to make sure the right person is authorized to act, protecting both the participant and their wishes.

At Northland PACE, we always review POA paperwork to ensure the right person is involved in care decisions.
It’s all part of keeping participants safe and their wishes respected. 🌼
