It is sometimes useful to go back and re-examine records and references you've used. BUT be aware of the un-connected dots you may have glossed over. Curiosity got the best of me looking at marriage records and using the "search" bar caused the discovery of multiple marriage records of an ancestor. Verifying everything multiple times has led to SIX (6), marriage certificates. The Westward expansion was a wild time!

We haven't found any US Presidents in our research. BUT...We have found Benjamin Franklin!! Not a US President but he was more important than several of US Presidents!

An ancestral trip to Norway is bucket list #1.

Norway pic per day! Reinli Stave Church in Valdres is from the 1200s and sits in the mountains overlooking the Valdres Valley. The history of these stave churches is fascinating.

I've started a database of farms, cemeteries, birthplaces, etc in Google Earth. Drawing out platted farms/land and putting pins where homes were etc.. When traveling I can take a quick look to see what is nearby for a sidetrip.
Has any one else done this or something similar....with success??
