Been reading my Bible this morning and saw in Luke 6:46-49 how we can respond to troubles in this life.

If we have little to no relationship with Jesus and His Word, we will collapse under the pressure of life. King David put it this way:

Psalm 32: “Therefore let everyone who is godly pray to Thee in a time when Thou mayest be found; SURELY IN A FLOOD OF GREAT WATERS (unforeseen and troubling circumstances)THEY SHALL NOT REACH HIM. Thou art my hiding place. Thou dost preserve me from trouble; Thou dost surround me with songs of deliverance. “

Don’t let the busyness of life crowd out your devotion to God. Don’t let someone’s offense keep you from being among a body of believers in a church. These are safety measures that keep us connected to the One who loves us. Otherwise your trust will only be in yourself

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. Acknowledge him in all of your ways, and he will direct your steps.” - Proverbs 3:5-6

DON’T LET THE DEVIL SIFT YOU LIKE WHEAT

““Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded permission to sift you like wheat;” - Luke‬ ‭22‬:‭31‬

Satan was not demanding permission from God … BUT FROM SIMON. Simon was a man of misplaced confidence and his pride opened the door for the devil to “sift him” to bring him to overwhelming depression and defeat when he denied knowing Jesus 3 times after His arrest.

“but I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, when once you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.””
‭‭Luke‬ ‭22‬:‭32‬

Some of you are on the brink of self-destruction. Su***de has claimed the lives of too many who have felt the burden of their world breaking their shoulders. God never intended us to do life on our own, but our sense of self reliance along with the pride of doing things our way has kept us from seeing God’s saving hand. We’ve been sold the lie that “God helps those who help themselves”. But Jesus came to help, to save those who cannot help themselves.

In the Garden the night Jesus was arrested, He told Peter, James and John the key to overcoming despair and every other temptation. … Prayer.

“and He said to them, “Why are you sleeping? Get up and pray that you may not enter into temptation.””
‭‭Luke‬ ‭22‬:‭46‬

But I’m not a praying person. ‭ So what? No one was a praying person until they needed something they could not get on their own. Cry out to Jesus before you do something you’ll regret. HE WILL intervene on your behalf.

“for Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.””
‭‭Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭13‬ ‭

Stop trying to figure Him out! Get honest with yourself and with Him and just do it. Believing on Him after you’re dead is too late.

“He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”
‭‭- John‬ ‭3:18

By now we’ve all heard “God loves you” and for many it hasn’t done a thing. Actions speak louder than words. You act and He’ll move, just give Him time. Faith is EXPECTING an answer. ❤️
