We have made the decision to keep Peanut. I had offered her to a fellow farmer, but they chose not to take her. Alex recommended that we retain her, and I wont argue! As Peanut is not related to our bull, E2, we will be able to breed her next year, assuming she comes into heat at that point. I expect her to develop into a valuable cow, given her gentle nature, near perfect markings, and increasing acceptance of us. I am looking forward to our future with this lady.

Big things are coming to the farm!

First and foremost, we're thrilled to announce that our farm family is growing. We're expecting a baby boy this October! While he won't be helping with chores for a while, we're counting him as our newest team member.

That's not all:
🐴 Our horse Vegas is confirmed in foal via ultrasound, so we’re expecting a little one from her in late April.
🐄 We're also hoping all three of our female cows will be bred by E2 this fall, bringing more calves next summer.
🐐 And our five goats are set to be bred in late September/early October for kids arriving in February or March.

It’s going to be a very full and exciting year ahead, follow along as we welcome new life and new adventures to the farm!

We have a new arrival! 🐮 Sugar delivered a tiny heifer calf yesterday evening. She weighs 30 pounds and stands 22 inches tall. So far she has shown a sweet & friendly temperament, and we have been actively handling her to ensure proper socialization. All the other cows are very good with her and Sugar is not aggressive with us at all when we are working with her. I have not yet decided whether to keep or sell her, but her name is Peanut. 🥜 🥰

Enjoy this beautiful picture 😂. Sugar our newest cow is starting to gain a milk bag! Its not much, but its something. I will be watching her like a hawk. 🤭 I cannot wait to have a little calf 🐮 to love on and cuddle. Stay tunes for the cutest baby cow pics in a little over a month (hopefully sooner).

We brought our sweet girl Vegas home yesterday after her visit with a stunning buckskin stallion! 🐴✨ In a few weeks, we’ll have her ultra sounded to confirm whether she’s in foal, fingers crossed! 🤞

If all goes well, we’ll be expecting a beautiful baby around mid-April 2026. While we’d absolutely love to keep our first foal, our farm is at capacity and won’t have the space. This special little one will be available for rehoming to a loving home when the time comes. 💛

Stay tuned for updates!

I realized I forgot to update you on Cricket, our last goat to give birth this year. On the 10th, she gave birth to triplets. She had amazing timing as we were just getting home from dinner when she started pushing. Ironically, the boy and one of the girls looked almost identical. We decided to make them bottle babies, and the girls went to a new home right away. The boy is still here, keeping our new buckling company, and will go to a new home in about a month. The girls were sized normally while the boy was tiny. I've included a picture that shows just how small he is compared to our new buckling we bought.

Big update! 🐮

E2 is heading back to Lavesser Acres to stay! We’re not sure on the exact date yet, but I’m hoping to have him home by the end of May so he can breed Scooter when she comes into heat, and then rebreed Ginger and Sugar after they calve.

Earl will be staying with us as a pet steer, we have to castrated him soon. The Zebu breed is often misunderstood. People love how tiny and cute they are, but they’re naturally a bit skittish, which doesn’t make them great pets for most folks. I don’t want to bring Zebu calves into the world just to see them bounced from home to home like Ginger was. She was in FOUR homes before she even turned a year old. 💔

So here's to Highland cross babies in 2026!

All of our kids headed off to their new homes this past weekend. Now we’re just waiting on Cricket to release her hostages… hopefully any day now!

On Sunday, I picked up a future herd sire from Breezy Farms (photo credit goes to them!). This handsome little guy is a Mini Nubian with a stellar pedigree, as expected from Breezy Farms. He’s just a week old, so we’ll be bottle-feeding into early summer — ugh!

He should be ready this fall to meet some ladies and hopefully bring us gorgeous Mini Nubian kids in Spring 2026. Oh, and he was a quadruplet from his dams first time kidding, pray those genes got passed onto him.

For now, we’re calling him “Little Buddy” like we do with all our bucklings, but he needs a proper name — drop your suggestions below!

And then there was one! This guy is the only one without a home to go to in a couple weeks. Someone sn**ch him up!

It's been a week since kidding concluded, and we ended up with 14 kids. Sadly, 3 of them passed— all girls. ☹️

This year was a 50/50 split between girls and boys! Of the boys pictured, only one is sold, and all the girls are sold.

Cricket still has a couple months until she should kid, and it's just a waiting game for the cows; we still have a few months to go for them.
