UPDATE:
We are waiting for insurance to get back to us as Lee has been working very hard to make sure we get insurance. I have confidence in this, but again can’t guarantee. If we don’t get answers today, we should have answers by Monday thank goodness! Lee even made sure to flag it to make it expidited for us as well. Hang in tight this just means we are picking their brains🤪

Waitlist Questions we have been getting questions about:

Do we have to sign up if we are enrolled with Good Shepherd?
Yes, because if we have your information, it is easier to send updates and saves a spot if Good Shepherd doesn't work out.

What info do you need to get on the waitlist?
Parents first/last name, email, phone number, and child/rens date of birth. We also need to know if you need full time or part time care.

What are your options for part time/ full time?
Full time is anything over 24 hrs and up to 10hr days. Part time has two options: Monday and Friday (10hr days) or Tuesday-Thursdays (Any way you want as long as it is not above 24hrs a week). We do this to be able to pay staff and certain grants we noticed in the past have considered part time at these hours. We understand that doesn't work with some schedules, so we are able to be flexible if you can find someone or we can find someone who can use the days you do not need care.

Where can I find pricing?
Message me and I will send it.

What does prices include?
-Bug Spray
-Sunscreen
-all clothes (unless blowout/bottles cleaned
-organic limited dye foods
-quality staff
-quality care
-high security

Fees different from others? All fees are nonrefundable
-$75 per family to save and guarantee spot (we are not offering this as we have a long waitlist at this moment)

-$125 a year per family (typically due August 3rd of each yr.) to go to supplies strictly to teacher (this helps teachers be able to provide quality care /materials to help keep the rooms maintained)

-Typically a 5% increase in tuition each year in November for teacher raises, rent increases, and food/material costs.

If you have any questions about how we do our pricing please ask. We are willing to help answer as many questions as possible. Hope this helps:)

Update Time:
We talked with plenty staff (the ones that parents seem to love so very much) and many are willing to stay or go where we go. Some also do plan going their separate ways. We talked with the city hall and we have 2 locations that can be a daycare (one being able to hold around 45 kids and one able to possibly hold more, but are unsure). This would be another option if Good Shepherd chooses to not go with us or if insurance doesn't allow. We have been back and forth with insurance all day and it does sound like things are moving along and we have a chance, but nothing is guaranteed. We talked to the bank in Seymour. Many have asked about Ms Lori and she is on board with us. We are working really hard to have her continue the 3k program! Again we can't guarantee anything, but we are trying our best. After talking to her she seems very nice and has a passion for kids as well as all the other teachers you all recommended. Long story short, we have a community ready to take action! We are working hard still to get Good Shepherd as that is the best bet, but if that is not an option we have other opportunities thanks to the supportive community we have.

Update:
We talked with city hall. We are looking at places to rent or buy in Seymour just in case Good Shepherd falls through. They have provided us with a loan option if we need it as well as helping us look for places. Our insurance agent is working very hard today. Next stop is the bank! Together we got this😊

11/20/2025

Update:
We just got back with insurance we are going back and forth with our agent to see what we can do and how to make our case stronger😊

11/20/2025

UPDATE:
So far Good Shepherd has no updates for us at this time. I will be talking to a few resources to see what we can gather. We are looking at a few options. We did look into the old school in Seymour as we have in the past. They are another one we will be contacting. We are willing to buy a place in Seymour if we have the community support since that would be hard budget wise with the Appleton location. As far as the church basement goes, at this time we dont think that it would be in the communities best interest as the church uses that space for many community events and we utilize that space for concerts, but it isnt out of the equation quite yet. We will continue to keep you guys in the loop:)

Questions/Answers

Who Are You?
We started as an Inhome daycare in Seymour. We are christian family who’s goal is the child’s safety and to give back to the community. Childcare is a need in Seymour, so whether it is us or not we are praying for Good Shepherd location to stay open with either us or another company who is for the kids and not the money. We started daycare due to infertility, child care costs, and simply because we love the atmosphere of daycare. We do foster care and try to give any kid, no matter the behavior, the best care possible.

Who Are Your Teachers Now?
Infants
2 besties since childhood who worked together and got lead certified within a year. Larissa has 8 siblings and Nevaeh has always helped her with them.

Ones:
Mother and daughter. Heidi has 12+ years of experience and Haley is in high school and should receive her lead certified certificate by the end of the week.

Twos:
Siblings. Amanda and Heather both have 7 years of experience in the two year old room.

Threes +
Zack has had experience as an assistant in rooms before, is a level 12 on the registry, and is very good with managing behaviors due to experience with Fundamentals.

Director:
Majestic. She is currently on maternity leave until December 10th and has been with us for 2 years. She has many experiences in all rooms including in the school district setting in Texas. She is very outgoing!

Cleaner/cook:
Susie who actually used to watch most of the parents in her own daycare classrooms when she used to teach.

What's your plan?
Plan A:
Get Good Shepherd to rent to us. We keep all current families and add more from our waitlists. Opening day would be January 6th and that is doable according to the State. We have contacted licensing and since we have a daycare already we won't have to go through prelicensing, making it a quicker process. We are waiting for insurance currently as out of many insurance companies many are denying us due to their violations. It's confusing how insurance works, but we have one other option that we should hear about tomorrow to see if this option is even doable.

Plan B:
Church basement. We plan to talk with the church to expand our daycare into the basement, which then we would have to contact insurance yet and licensing about this. We should be able to start by January 6th with this option. Right now it's about convincing the church to let us utilize their space. This would be utilized as a 3k-4k room, so that would open 35 spots.

Plan C:
Renting a different space completely located in Seymour. This would be a hard one to actually get done, but there is little chance and we have a realtor working on it as of right now. Money is a huge factor since we are still opening Appleton regardless. This plan does not have a timeline as there is a huge range of possibilities.

Overall:
We will be making a lot of phone calls tomorrow to try and get more answers.

What If I Sign Up Through Black Creek And You Open One In Seymour?
All of our daycares are transparent with one another, so Good Shepherd and Inhome kiddos would have first dibs to a Seymour location.

How Do I Get On The Waitlist?
We have a large waitlist currently. You just have to contact us via phone call is best. We will get you in our software we use and send you updates via email. Once we know we can guarantee your spot, we do require a $75 deposit to hold that spot meaning you for sure will be getting childcare.

What Safety Do You Have At The Daycare?
We have security cameras in all rooms we check frequently. We have pin pad access at both main entrances. We hire based on teachers who are willing to always learn and do background checks. We don’t hire everyone that comes through the door. We also take care of our teachers to avoid burnout.

What Makes You Different?
We don’t have bussing due to the cost of buses, but we do walking field trips, we host concerts for the kiddos 3-4 times a year, we clean bottles/extra clothes, and we serve limited dye and organic foods. We do have 4 developmental days per year that we don't provide care for teachers to clean rooms and do training. We are family here and you are not just a number:)

What’s Our Curriculum Like?
We are training in Pyramid model for Social Emotional Learning, talking with speech therapists to see how to best support kiddos, getting feedback from birth to three to help support challenging behaviors, Mat Man to utilize for letter recognition and body parts, and Zoo phonics for letter awareness.

Where Will Updates Be Going Forward?
All updates will be on facebook and through email. Some emails will be automated due to the software we have.

What About Us Staff?
Due to insurance we would have to go through a hiring process. We plan to keep everyone including the assistant director as we have heard good things about all of you. We made a list of all the teachers with parent recommendations. We are glad to keep anyone who has the philosophy of a community aspect that everyone is growing together and teachers who have a passion in this field.

Overall:
We are trying our best to make sure that this goes as smoothly as possible. I'm unsure of who, but there is another person looking at the daycare and if they get it I do not know what that would look like as that is out of our control. We are happy to answer any questions. Based on the tour, there would need to be some work for us to do to meet our standards. Many have been asking how to help, and all I can think of is voice your concerns, be patient as I know it is hard, we may need help financially starting a location in seymour for starting costs as we have been saving for Appleton, and we may need help organizing the center if we get into the Good Shepherd Childcare Location. I want to give a shoutout to the people behind the scenes trying their best efforts: Lee (our insurance agent), Cayla (Coordinator at Good Shepherd that is willing to talk to us), Tim (Our realtor for dealing with us and our crazy selves lol), Lesa (Pre Licensing specialist for believing in us in our many adventure through inhome up to where we are today), Greg (The church president willing to expedite a board meeting for us), and all the parents in this willing to help us and everyone as a community. We truly appreciate all of you guys!

Reassurance:
As a reminder all things are possible through God. Everything happens for a reason. We are just unraveling his plans for each of us in what direction this will go. All I know is that we have a strong community of support and whether you believe in God or not, together we got this! If you have any questions or concerns please let me know. Please message for rates if you are interested.

UPDATE:
Thanks so much for everyone who came with questions today. I hope I answered all of them as I am sure it is a lot. I will be putting together a common questions sheet. We are working with what we have and will have some answers hopefully soon as our community deserves childcare. If you have questions please feel free to ask. Just to be clear only Good Shepherds Childcare is closing down which is separate from their other entities. Thanks for bearing with us! Everyone who contacted us should have gotten a email on their spot on the waitlist. If you have not gave me your email please do so as that will be the best way of communication.
