After getting my certification in Vodder Manual Lymphatic drainage (face) I knew I wanted to be able to help others even more. But need my massage therapy license to be able to work on my body.

So. Starting TOMORROW, I start school at Denver Integrative Massage School! Same incredible school that I got my aesthetics education through!

Lavender & Thyme: Holistic Skin Therapy is expanding!!! 🥂 here is to getting this school done before spring next year and being able to offer more services to help this incredible community!

Picture this ...

You are dealing with skin issues (acne, rosacea, dry skin, oily skin, enlarged pores, eczema, under eye circles, or something you want to fix). You don't want to try the NEXT latest and "greatest" quick fix - especially after hearing the list of side effects (cancer, death, heart disease, so on and so on). You don't know where to turn.

You schedule a session with your local Holistic Aesthetician. As you do some pre-appointment stalking you find that she is not your average aesthetician. She is an herbalist, holistic nutritionist, detox wellness specialist ... this is Holistic Skin Therapy.

Your first appointment is an hour long consultation. You go over an entire thorough health history. She talks to you about the skin issue you have been dealing with for years. She empowers you. Gives you hope that the protocol she will be putting together for you WILL help not only your skin issues BUT it will address the root cause. She sends you home with a homemade remedy and some healing tea to start your journey off.

You are in tears. Someone understands.

You then spend the next 3-4 months coming once or twice a week for specialized treatments that are designed for you. You get weekly emails with customized nutrition, herbal remedies, and whole food supplement recommendations to help you. You come in for detox sessions, red light therapy, and custom created facials where only pure earth ingredients are used. Specialized masks made from God's healing goodness, oils, herbs ... you are surrounded by the most amazing aromas that relax you, calm you.

During some of your 60-90 minute sessions - sound therapy is used to help calm down your adrenals, lymph massage is used to help stimulate blood flow and drain any backed up lymph on your face, neck, shoulders ... you leave each session seeing more improvements each time. You are dropping weight, feeling less stress, sleeping better, gaining confidence.

After your initial treatment package is over you go to a membership option that allows for a maintenance package. I am feeling so grateful this morning.

I was looking up some items for Glenda’s reno this morning, chatting with the guy who is doing the work for me and got a little emotional.

God is so good. And when He has a path for us He speaks loudly and in bold colors. It came to me clear as ever to do this project. I remember the urge to find the camper. I knew exactly what "she" would look like and put it out there on one of our Black Forest groups.
Not even 5 minutes after posting a woman shared that she had this 1950's tear drop camper she may be interested in selling. When we got there, the first thing she said was ... "Glenda is right over here".

I still get goosebumps. Glenda means holy and good, and right then I knew that name was going to stick. There "she" was, sitting there untouched/unused for probably close to 10 or so years. She was in rough shape but beautiful and I knew this was the one. I brought her home and had no idea what I was going to do with her. Charlie thought I was nuts spending $1200 on a beat up old camper.

We left for our Mexico trip a couple of days later and it all came rushing in, like a download. I remember the dreams of what Glenda was supposed to be and how she will serve the community. Idea after idea came to me. God has great ideas and I was 100% open to listen!

Now with the new and big addition of adding in botanical skincare and healing from the inside out. It is the icing on the cake of all my years of herbal training and detox training. I cannot wait to formulate more products to put on the shelves in both Glenda and my new home spa (can't think of any better word at this time for it).

Being able to not only help people heal their bodies, but for them to feel pampered, relaxed, and see/feel the difference in their skin. I am going to create a healing environment that I personally have never seen before. And create an experience unlike any other for my clients.

I don't even know where that will go as this is a bit of a new area for me. But I know it will be amazing.

I love Fridays! Friday is when I get to see clients! My first client (and friend) had a special Balneo therapy. I made her a special tea, and she got to try out some of my raw chocolate. Each Balneo session I blend a unique blend of botanical ingredients for their session. 🌿

Today’s blend was a heart focused and grounding. Giving energy and strength ♥️

Well, it is official!

For the next year I will be in school to receive my professional license and adding an exciting twist to Glenda’s Old Thyme Apothecary.

Botanical & Medical Aesthetics.

Fun history.

1996 - I started my very first job in the cosmetic/skincare industry. At Sears (yea ... it is laughable that they even had this department, but I made the best friends and had the BEST time with that job.)

2001 - I graduated Purdue and moved to AZ and worked at another cosmetic/skincare counter at Macy's. I realized after a couple of years (there for a short time, then moved to WI and worked at an Estee Lauder counter) learned that retail wasn't for me anymore.

Fast forward ... I have always been intrigued with healing the body holistically. I have been in this field (wellness, fitness, holistic nutrition, etc) for over 20 years, but narrowing down my "specialties" this last 8 years.

2015 - I formulated my very first body care product - deodorant. It was a huge hit and I went on to formulate some other products and found a love for formulating using oils, butters, herbal oils/butters, and other flower/herb based products.

I LOVE the field of holistic health. I love healing the body from the inside out. I LOVE seeing people age naturally and gracefully without all the toxins. I LOVE when people feel good about themselves - not only what they see in the mirror, but what they are feeling on the inside. WHOListic health and wellness.

By healing the liver, gut, energy field, mind, heart, etc, we then go on to see the benefits with clear skin, strong nails and long healthy hair. Clear eyes, soft hands ... it all comes from the inside.

I am so excited to take this pretty big plunge to add Botanical Holistic Aesthetics to my business. After this course, which is a year, I am going even deeper into my herbal education and adding in an in person course.

I am excited to formulate more products that will target deeper skin issues/healing the body. Offer services that will relax, heal, and pamper people. I don't even know what that will all look like yet, but I will for sure know after I get through the school!

So much exciting stuff coming with my business! I feel blessed to have these opportunities to go ever more WHOLIstic with my services ❤

I took my very first Face Mapping class almost 6 years ago. It intrigued me!

Our bodies are extremely good communicators. They will tell you in every way possible that there is an issue going on inside that you can't see. Problem is, we aren't very good listeners and only think that we need to "fix" the problem we see and ignore the very important message being given to you.

Our liver does most of the work in our bodies to keep toxins out and things in balance, but we are not good to our livers and rarely do we do anything to nourish it or give it a break.

So, it sends out messages to try to get you to pay attention ...
Acne, darks pots, uneven skin tone, etc. all of that is a sign your body is trying to signal to you to look deeper. Not take a medication or put injections into your skin, or to buy a ton of creams. The right topical solutions may be beneficial in some ways, but the root problem will still be there and the next cue you may get may be a bad one ... dis-ease, pain, or even worse.

Take inventory of your body and what you can hear it communicating to you.

Chinese medicine is my go to with almost all my ailments over the last 8 years and it has served me well. Pair that with frequent detoxes, holistic nutrition, and herbal medicine and the body will do a much better job functioning!

OOO I am excited! Mapping out my 2023 and adding in some BIG classes and a BIG addition to Glenda’s Old Thyme Apothecary services. It is hush right now as I am going through the process of enrollment, but it will be the icing on the cake and the final addition to all my education to truly bring herbal/botanical modalities to our community!

THIS year, stay tuned ... I have a handful of products that will be available for the holidays! Raw chocolate, goats milk soap, herbal tea, incense (NO chemicals!), and a few other items!
