This week, our residents came together to host a heartfelt Team Member Appreciation Event to show their gratitude for all team members. The day was filled with cheers, delicious cookies, a gift—and even a surprise visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus!

Plus, we enjoyed a lively dance performance and a sing-along with team members, making the celebration extra special.

Thank you to our incredible residents for making us feel so appreciated, and to every team member for the dedication and care you bring every day. 💙 Together, we make our community stronger!

We’re proud to announce that Cindy McCurry, CNA with Givens Home First, is the 2025 recipient of the Georgia Crump Certified Nursing Assistant Recognition Award from MemoryCare

Cindy was honored for her creativity, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to client dignity. She mentors new caregivers, champions self-care initiatives, and brings joy to clients living with Alzheimer’s.

Established in 2003 by MemoryCare, this award celebrates CNAs for their compassion and dedication to older adults, especially those with memory disorders. Cindy received this well-deserved recognition at MAHEC’s Certified Nursing Assistant Conference on November 5.

Yesterday, our Life Enrichment Coordinator, Nick Brennan, led a spirited and heartfelt discussion with our veteran residents about their time in the service. It was a powerful moment of reflection, camaraderie, and gratitude.

Big things are happening on the south side of our dining room! While the dirt and blocks may not look like much now, our crews are hard at work building new greenhouses that will soon be filled with sunshine and life.

We are honored to feature Ursula Goebels-Ellis, a talented resident artist at Givens Highland Farms whose work speaks to resilience, healing, and hope.
Ursula’s journey with art began as a personal path to healing after moving to America from a war-torn Germany. Her words capture this beautifully: “As I formed the clay, the clay formed me.”

Her sculptures have been showcased in significant exhibits, including being invited to participate in Faces of Grief and Healing: A 9/11 Commemorative Exhibit, where her art offered solace and reflection during a time of national mourning.
