Speak to Them Still
Speak to them, your dearly departed,
even if your voice trembles
and the words feel too heavy
to leave your lips.
They linger quietly,
in the soft glow of morning,
in the hush beneath the noise,
in the spaces left behind
where laughter once lived.
Tell them about the ache,
about the small things that still hurt,
your fears,
your worries,
how lonely the world feels without them.
Speak to them,
for grief is the gentle echo of love,
and they are near
in every shadow,
in every sigh,
in every pause of memory.
And when the tears come,
let them speak too,
they are the words
your heart cannot yet form.
They hear you.
Even now,
they always hear you.
