During the Christmas/Holiday season it is easy to get stressed out and tired. We worry about money, what to get people, whether to travel or host guests. We eat the treats, got to the parties, get the germs and probably end up sick. It's that time of year, we say, but it doesn't have to be hard.
Remember to take time to rest, eat the healthy foods, don't worry about the gifts and enjoy the time spent with those we love. Do something kind for someone else, even if it's a smile as you pass by or holding the door. Remember to do something for yourself too. Say no to the things that are too overwhelming or that you just don't have time for. Give yourself some grace when you forget a few things or your house doesn't look like a showroom.
It's OK to let go of what isn't working and doesn't bring you joy. Set the boundaries or let things go that just don't matter. Do what is best for you and those you are responsible for. Smile, take a deep breath, you are doing great! Keep going and remember you are loved, no matter what. ♥️

This is so true. My first husband and my second were polar opposites, but there was disfunction in both relationships. I needed to heal and come to an awareness of the things that really shaped my thoughts and feelings as a child, before I can find the right relationships. I'm still working on it, still working on me. I stopped trying to change everything and everyone around me, because it was taking all my strength and sucking the life out of me, literally and figuratively. I'm still healing, still dealing with triggers and still learning to manage my feelings, and it's getting better. I hope that some of the messages that I repost will help someone else as much as they help me. Love you ♥️

Happiness becomes easier when you stop gripping what’s gone and start living where you are.

The past is over, learn from it and release it.

The present is happening now, so don’t miss it while wishing for something else.

And the future isn’t here yet, but it has a way of working out when you trust your journey.

Let go, be here, believe in what’s ahead.

Life gets much lighter when you stop fighting time and start flowing with it.

That’s when happiness finally feels natural, not forced.❤️

This is why I can't remember so many things. I half jokingly tell my kids, "If we don't take a picture, it never happened." Being in survival mode for months, even years can do a real number on your memory and confidence. Some days when I smell something it instantly takes me back to a childhood memory. Sometimes it happens when I look through a picture album. But, most of the time, I can't remember why I walked into the room or why I picked up my phone. If you struggle with memory, short or long term, what do you to help yourself remember?
