March is Women's History Month! Joint Regeneration Group of Blacksburg would like to honor Margaret Abbott, the first American woman to win an Olympic event. While studying art in Paris, she entered an armature golf tournament and placed first! Abott died at the age of 77, never realizing that the tournament was part of the first modern Olympics. Her accomplishment was only realized years later by her son, when he was informed of the significance of the tournament win.
