Just thought I would jump on here and let you know how I am doing. But first I need to thank everyone for their prayers, thoughts, love, and of course food. I am so very grateful and appreciative of all the Love that has been shown to me and my family. I want to thank Laura, my awesome business partner, for everything that she has done to help keep the business going in my absence. A big thank you to David, Casey, Jeff, Svenna, Resa, Jacob and Amber for all that they have done to help me through the last couple of years. They have all been wonderful to me.
It has been 3 ½ weeks since having total hip replacement on my right hip. My body is responding well to the new hip. I am not in the pain I was in prior to surgery. I do have some pain now but not anywhere like before and mostly it’s from over doing it, which doesn’t take much.
I am slowly gaining strength and stamina. It is amazing how little I had, now I can do a lot more without help, but I do get tired quickly. After a year and a half, I have been compensating so much in my movements that I need to re-learn how to move properly, know that my hip, knee and leg can move, I catch myself too often moving in those compensating movements, then I realize I can move, and my right hip does move. I can walk up and down stairs normally, slowly but normally, which is a big deal. Soon I will be able to ditch my cane for good.
I am hoping that by the time school starts I will be able to start working again. Only time will tell. I will let you know when I am able to start working.
Thank you again for everything!
Kari
