Empty nesting isn’t really my thing.
So when my youngest went off to college… We brought home a few very fluffy Highland calves instead.

Now, instead of tucking kids into bed, I’m out in the pasture doing bedtime checks—making sure little noses are warm, everyone’s settled, and it’s time to say goodnight.

Empty nest? Nah.
Mothering doesn’t just disappear.

Turns out my heart just needed somewhere else to land. That’s how Lovey’s Highland Haven came to be—a quiet place rooted in care, connection, and gentle moments. And now I’m still tucking someone in every night… just a whole lot fluffier. 🐮🤍

Family. Connection. Gentle animals. Quiet joy.
Welcoming new life — both human and Highland — is something I’ll never take for granted.

And the first family photos with our sweet highlands just happened to be my beautiful daughter, her wonderful husband and my two perfect grandsons 🤍🤍
