Shoemaker Funeral Home, Pet Crematory, and Shoemaker Monument Company Funeral Home in Blairsville, PA; Indiana County here to serve all with dignity and respect Richard K. and Dorothy J. Shoemaker purchased the funeral home in 1951.

Shoemaker Funeral Home was originally Hunter Funeral Home prior to 1951. In 1953, at the age of 31, Richard K. passed away. From 1953 to 1973, Dorothy J. ran the funeral home under a widows license. In 1973 Richard L. and Willa E. took over the ownership of the funeral home until the present. In September 2002, Richard K. Shoemaker II became a licensed funeral director and is now an integral part of our corporation.

After 21 years of dedicated service to the Indiana community, our office manager, Debbie, has decided to retire and spend much needed time with her family.

With her impending departure, we are looking to fill this position.

Key Responsibilities would include but not limited to:

• Prepare service materials including, photos, and personal keepsakes for client families.

• Maintain proper care, handling, and storage of service items and personal belongings.

• Prepare and process documents related to services, cremations, and office operations as directed by management.

• Perform general administrative duties such as answering phones, filing, some light billing and managing office equipment.

• Operate office systems including computers, multi-line IP phone systems, debit card machines, and the possibility of audio/visual equipment

• Greet and assist client families and visitors with professionalism, compassion, and respect

• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional office environment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Compassionate and professional demeanor
• Strong verbal, people and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
• Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively
